As an Operations Manager II, you will lead strategic initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness across multiple areas within operations. This mid-level management position involves overseeing manufacturing, production control, engineering, and materials functions. You will ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards, and develop operational plans, budgets, policies, and procedures.The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.Responsibilities:Oversee and manage complex manufacturing operations, production control, and inventory control activities.Lead and implement advanced process improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams.Develop and execute manufacturing strategies to meet customer requirements and business objectives.Prepare, manage, and optimize budgets for operational departments.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.Develop and enforce comprehensive operational policies and procedures.Qualifications You Must Have:Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Operations, Business, Logistics, or related field of study.9+ years of operations management experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.Thorough understanding of and experience with the practical application of production/manufacturing principles, techniques, and best practices.Progressive experience with materials management systems.Professional certification in Lean manufacturing processes, implementation or Six Sigma.Advanced proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) software and data analysis tools.Familiarity with Lean, Six-sigma, and/or Theory of Constraints Manufacturing Principles.Understanding of Assembly, Integration, and Test practices.Ability to work on a computer for the majority of the work shift.Hand/finger dexterity for data entry and document handling.Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.Ability to travel occasionally as required.Ability to read detailed operational documents, reports, and computer screens.Ability to inspect operations and facilities, potentially in different lighting conditions.Ability to navigate large facilities, including climbing stairs or ladders if necessary.Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for site visits or other work-related travel.Ability to perform fine motor tasks such as adjusting small controls or tools during inspections or demonstrations.This posting will be open for application for a minimum of 5 days and may be extended based on business needs.Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications.
