Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a 1st Shift, CNC Operator IV for our City of Industry, California location.

Born from many well-known and long-standing brands, Howmet Fastening Systems, headquartered in Torrance, California, is the premier designer and manufacturer of aerospace and industrial fasteners, latches, fluid fittings and installation tools. Our products are used nose to tail on commercial and military aircraft, as well as on jet engines, industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, wind turbines, solar power systems, and construction and industrial equipment.

Able to read, write and understand basic instructions in English

Communicates effectively with other team members and Production Team Leader

Be familiar with Human Performance tasks

Able to perform entry level set-ups

Knowledge of all measuring instruments and gages for their operation

Able to speak effectively before groups of co-workers, customers, auditors, etc.

Working knowledge in manufacturing and quality processes and principles

Understanding of cutting tools (and offset geometry)

Able to assist supervisor and lead person in the training of CNC Operator I-VI

Ability and willingness to be trained on the complex CNC set-ups

Must have full understanding of the CNC control functions (e.g. Be able to run all CNC machines brands and models (Haas, Takamaz, Gildemeister, Muratec)

Must be able and willing to train CNC Operators I-IV

Able to demonstrate proficiency at programming or

Be willing to cross train and/or assist other departments to meet facility goals

Understand programming requirements such as; Make necessary correction to programs per drawing/blueprint as required

7 years’ of CNC experience required

CNC Certificate required

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
