Pathology, Research Pathologist

Position Summary

Salary Range: $210,000 - $409,700 (Health Sciences Compensation Plan).

UC Davis Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine seeks a dynamic faculty member to serve as a Molecular Pathologist at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank within the Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series.

Responsibilities include providing strategic vision and collaborative implementation to enhance the Molecular Pathology Division. Clinical and administrative duties involve medical, technical, and scientific directorship of division staff and laboratory personnel, supervising laboratory operations, participating in test reporting and new test development, and contributing to quality assurance and accreditation activities. The role requires active participation in research and scholarly activities, mentoring housestaff and medical students, engaging in interdisciplinary conferences, and developing curriculum in subspecialty areas.

Qualifications

MD, DO, PhD, or combined MD/PhD or DO/PhD.

MD or DO degrees must be board‑eligible or certified in Clinical Pathology and Molecular Pathology (or comparable board).

US citizen, permanent resident, or authorized to work under an employment visa.

Extensive experience in a clinical or academic setting, including clinical care, teaching, and research, meeting requirements for appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in the Clinical (X) or HSCP series.

Demonstrated ability to maintain high‑level service, work cooperatively in a diverse environment, and build strong interpersonal relationships with medical, technical staff, trainees, and peers.
