Systems Engineer (SE) is a key member of the sales organization, responsible for driving technical strategy and execution across the sales lifecycle. This role partners closely with Account Executives, partners, and customers to design, demonstrate, and position Extreme Networks solutions that address complex business and technical requirements.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with consultative selling skills and the ability to influence customer decisions in competitive environments.
Partner with Account Executives to develop and execute account strategies and technical sales plans
Design and architect secure, scalable networking solutions aligned to customer business requirements
Provide consultative guidance across networking domains including wired, wireless, security, and cloud-managed solutions
Support evaluations, solution validation, and competitive differentiation during the sales cycle
Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
Deliver customer and partner enablement through training, workshops, and technical briefings
Collaborate with product management and engineering to provide field feedback and influence direction
Support post-sales escalations as needed to ensure customer success
7-10+ years of experience in systems engineering, pre-sales engineering, or related technical roles
Strong expertise in networking technologies including switching, routing, wireless, and security
Experience delivering customer-facing presentations, demos, and technical workshops
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex network environments
Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex customer engagements
Experience with cloud-managed networking platforms
Exposure to automation, scripting, or API-driven networking
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
Customer-first, consultative approach to selling
Collaborative team player aligned to sales and technical organizations
Travel
Travel required for customer engagements, workshops, and POCs - up to 50%
