Health – Prioritizing physical, mental, and emotional wellness

Hygea Healthcare opened a brand new 16 bed substance abuse residential facility in Linthicum, MD. Job Summary The Substance Use Counselor’s role is to support others in recovery from a substance use disorder. The Substance Use Counselor will provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to assist recovering individuals in preventing relapse and promoting long‑term recovery. The Substance Use counselor will use an outcomes‑based approach and evidenced‑based practices to achieve results. The role requires occasional on‑call, and rotating Holiday coverage.

Essential Job Functions Conduct confidential, quality assessments, that are gender‑responsive and trauma‑informed, utilizing ASAM criteria to determine the appropriate level of care.

Use a strengths‑based and trauma‑informed approach to work collaboratively with clients and internal and external Hygea Healthcare treatment team members to help support clients in their treatment and recovery.

Receive ongoing training and supervision to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge.

Possess a master's degree in a relevant field and hold the required licensure, such as LCPC, LCSW / LMSW, or LMFT / resident in marriage and family therapy.

Minimum of 2 years of non‑internship experience treating substance use disorders

Minimum of 2 years on non‑internship experience working in a residential treatment center or outpatient facility
