The Surgery Unit at Spring View Hospital embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication. This is a 10‑bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support (4 in OR and 6 in Recovery).

The RN demonstrates professional development and clinical competency; uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

Performs admission assessment and reassessments as set forth within hospital Standards of Care time frames.

Documents accurately in the patient’s medical record.

Evaluates and addresses the education needs of patient and family and coordinates discharge assistance including home health needs indicated.

Conveys to supervisor any problems related to supplies or equipment as well as information pertaining to problem.

Notifies physician, anesthesia provider, charge nurse, and other individuals when appropriate, of any adverse changes in patient’s condition.

Ability to work in all areas of surgical services i.e., RN license required.
