What You'll Do
Provide direct patient care for a variety of acute conditions, including respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, DKA, and post-procedure care (heart cath, arteriogram)
Monitor and manage complex patient cases, including medication drips like Levophed, Insulin, Amiodarone, and Cardizem
Manage invasive devices such as CVLs and arterial lines, perform Foley cath management, and assist with tube feedings
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including RT, hospitalists, OT, PT, and ST
Document patient care accurately in EMR (Meditech Expanse)
Maintain a professional environment adhering to hospital policies and patient safety protocols
What You Need
Required:
Active RN license in Louisiana
Minimum 2 years of relevant acute care RN experience
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
Ability to pass an EKG competency exam (includes MedSurg RN skills)
Experience managing CVLs, arterial lines, and medication drips
Preferred:
Experience in Step-Down or PCU units
Flexibility to float between units (Stroke/MedSurg) and adapt to changing patient needs
About the Assignment This assignment is based in a busy, acute-care hospital in Bossier City, LA, specializing in a variety of medically complex cases. You will be part of a dedicated team providing high-quality care in a 12-bed PCU. The role includes orientation, weekend rotations, and working holidays with coverage for up to 7 days of time off, ensuring a balanced work environment.
