Clinical Research RN OpportunityVirginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Research RN to support our office in Hampton.Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.ResponsibilitiesPresent trial concepts, objectives and treatment details to potential patients for various cellular therapy trials, while conducting detailed assessment and screening to determine their eligibility.Participating in the informed consent process and enrolling patients on protocol80% of the job will be computer based, and direct patient care is limited in a non-RN Clinical Research Coordinator roleCollects and maintains regulatory documents in accordance with USOR SOP and applicable regulations. Participates in scheduling monitoring and auditing visits, as well as interacting with the monitors/auditors while onsite.Coordinating patient care in compliance with protocol requirementsCollaborating with the physician to review patients for changes in condition, adverse events, concomitant medication use, protocol compliance, response to drug study and thoroughly documenting all findingsWorking directly with other research bases and/or sponsorsOverseeing the preparation of orders by physicians to assure that protocol compliance is maintainedCommunicating with physicians regarding study requirements, need for dose modification and adverse event reportingQualificationsExperience in clinical research preferredExperience with computer data entry and database managementExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures such as protocols, informed consent, and regulatory documentsGraduate from an accredited program for nursing education (BSN preferred)Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience, preferably in oncologyCurrent licensure as an RN in Virginia preferredCurrent BCLS or ACLS certification requiredOCN, SoCRA, or ACRP certification preferredWORK ENVIRONMENT: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
