Human Resources Generalist

JusticeWorks is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support employees and leaders across employee relations, leave administration, compliance, HRIS, and day-to-day HR operations. Position Overview: The Human Resources Generalist provides practical HR guidance, supports compliance and employee relations, manages leave processes, and helps ensure consistent HR practices in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.

Advise leaders and employees on HR policies, employee relations, onboarding, and personnel changes.

Manage HRIS updates, employee records, terminations, and reporting.

Oversee FMLA, Workers' Compensation, disability, military, and unpaid leave administration.

Partner with managers on corrective action, performance management, and documentation.

Support unemployment claims, compliance activities, audits, and HR process improvements.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

• 4–6 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist or employee relations-focused role.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, leave administration, employee relations, and compliance.
• Experience advising managers on corrective action, documentation, policy interpretation, and performance matters.
• Multi-state HR and HRIS experience strongly preferred.
• Prior human services, nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, or community-based experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
