This position has Bargaining Unit status. In compliance with VA Policy & union requirements/recommendations for Title 38 clinical positions, internal facility employees must receive first consideration prior to hiring managers making selections externally to other applicants. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.

Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).

CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification).

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.

Provide both outpatient and inpatient care to Veteran patients.

Collaborate with healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.

Selectee will participate fully in the duties of the section of GYN Surgery

Ensure quality assurances of the service and the delivery of healthcare by participating in service, careline, and institutional peer reviews.

Respond to reports of contact, incident reports, signed statements, and customer complaints; and, participate in root cause analyses.

Will provide surgical consultation to patients in both telehealth and in-person settings.

Document patients' symptoms, order diagnostic tests, follow up with lab results, and discuss/recommend treatment options to patients.

Serve as a member of medical staff to provide advisory and consultative services on meetings, committees, conferences and/or boards.

Coordinate care of Veterans with facility and community resources.

Responsible for the education and evaluation of medical students, residents, and fellows within the service.

Monday thru Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
