Hotel - Housekeeping House Person - Overnight shift

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens and deliver linens and other supplies to them.

Remove all dirty linen from assigned Room Attendants’ carts and closets and transport it to laundry.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas; remove trash, wipe down shelves and counters, sweep and wax floor, and remove non‑floor closet items to store in appropriate areas.

Respond to guests’ requests for housekeeping supplies (e.g., linens, cots) in a timely and efficient manner.

Clean designated areas such as public restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, storage areas, and other public areas on assigned floors.

Report to supervisor any needed repairs or unsafe conditions.

Respond to guest complaints and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.

Monitor and control supplies and amenities, and minimize waste within all housekeeping areas.

Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

Collect newspaper and other items for recycling, when required.

Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.

Assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Basic reading, writing, and math skills; some housekeeping experience preferred; ability to speak English.

Ability to lift or carry items weighing up to 75 pounds and push or pull items up to 300 pounds.

Frequently stand, move about the facility, handle equipment, and bend, stoop, and kneel.

Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and employees.

Reading and writing abilities for completing assignments and checklists.

May be required to drive in the performance of duties.

Availability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Work area includes housekeeping areas, guest corridors, and service elevators.

Successful completion of a Federal background check is required; background check must be renewed annually.

Job Details

Hourly pay rate: $17.75

Benefits: paid time off, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k), and other eligible benefits.

Position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is subject to overtime in accordance with Federal and State regulations.
