Heritage Woods of Freeport is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team! This position will be cross‑trained between the Maintenance and Dietary Departments to ensure seamless support across Community operations and resident care experiences.
Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Director, oversee the Community safety program and maintain a secure resident home and working environment in compliance with policy and regulations.
Sustain a preventative maintenance program to maintain proper functioning of all Community equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Complete all maintenance requests, both scheduled and emergency, quickly and efficiently.
Mechanically repair, replace, and/or install minor equipment, hardware, and controls. Such scope of work is to be cleared by the Executive Director.
Maintain water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners, kitchen equipment and associated equipment.
Maintain community plumbing systems.
Perform exterior maintenance duties.
Perform fire and disaster drill activities with residents and team members.
Engage with residents in a compassionate and impactful manner, cultivating a warm and supportive environment where the values of love, compassion, and dignity are reflected in every interaction.
Qualifications High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
Experience in HVAC systems and/or electrical required.
Prior senior living experience desired.
Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
