ELECTRICIAN LEAD (FULL TIME, DAY SHIFT)

Job Profile Summary Under general supervision, the purpose of the job is to perform advanced skilled journey level work combining activities in various mechanical and building trade areas: installation, operation, maintenance, equipment and fixtures, service and repair of electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating ventilating, and plumbing systems. HVAC, electrical, pump-mechanical, plumbing. This position allows eligible veterans and their spouses to claim Veterans’ Preference pursuant

High School diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience/Training:
~ Five years of experience in the Electrical Journeyman level.

Desirable certifications/licenses include Electrical Journeyman License or Master Electrical License, Fork lift certification, Man lift certification, CDL Class D, certification from an accredited technical school.
Daily - 10%: Performs complex and specialized tasks in the construction, renovation, modification, installation and repair of buildings, equipment, apparatus and facilities.
HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pump-mechanical.
Daily - 10%: Performs complex plumbing work in repairing valves and fixtures; Daily - 30%: Performs electrical repairs to buildings, boxes and switches; Picks up and delivers materials to job sites; unloads delivery trucks; operates forklift, man lift, front in loader and other heavy machinery.
Other - 5%: Performs the following: preparation of cost estimates, material orders, reports and maintenance of records.
Other - 5%: Provides assistance and technical guidance to other trades and facilities maintenance staff in proper procedures and practices according to the specific trade discipline applied to a project.
Functions in a lead worker capacity according to the particular project or as assigned by supervisor.
Daily - 5%: Ensures adherence to established standards governing proper safety in the workplace and according to job site.
Other - 5%: Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
May assist or provide input to the supervisor on staffing, training, performance evaluations and scheduling
Ability to recognize needs of unit and own responsibility
Ability to work with students, faculty and staff within grounds and maintenance
Ability to operate heavy equipment is required
Ability to manage facilities projects
