Registered Nurse In Intensive Care Unit

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH certifications Must-Have: Experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips. Experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown. Telemetry experience including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. The unit runs similarly to an ICU. The unit will accept 13-week contracts or longer. Floating to a sister unit may be required as needed. The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Typical diagnoses include respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, and post-operative patients. additional drips will require transfer to ICU. The unit is equipped with bedside telemetry monitors. Nurses must be able to recognize and treat dysrhythmias. Special equipment includes A-lines, BIPAPs, chest tubes, and tracheostomy equipment. There are no ventilators on this unit.
