The Strategic Defense Solution engineering organization in Binghamton, NY is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with analog and digital design experience. Products include chassis adapters supporting Ethernet, video and discrete I/O, embedded processor systems and user interfaces. This opportunity is targeted at engineers who enjoy working in a systems environment as it includes designing multiple electrical elements of a product, interacting with mechanical and software team members, developing PCB and system requirements and supporting system test teams.

Research, develop, design, fabricate, modify, and evaluate an electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices, ensuing work is completed on time and established quality and budgets are achieved.
Prepare engineering sketches or specifications to construct, relocate, or install equipment, products, or systems.
Prepares documentation including descriptions or specifications of proprietary hardware or software, information on product development, schedules, product costs, and performance weaknesses to track progress and analyze performance.
Perform engineering work and applied research, development, and design of new products to ensure quality standards and business objectives are met.
Analyze and evaluate new or improved electronic components (PM&P) including power generation, transmission and distribution, rotating machinery, illumination, wire communication systems, servomechanisms, circuit theory, computer design and development, instrumentation, radio communications, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, and television systems.
S. government issued security clearance is required. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Active DoD security clearance.
Experience in designing digital and analog products including microprocessor systems, low-power supplies, communication subsystems.
Experience with mixed signal design including SoC/FPGAs, A/D Converters, Digital Down Converters, D/A Converters, Digital Waveform Generators, Mixed Signal CCAs, Mixed Signal Modules and Subsystems.
Experience with developing test procedures, test fixtures and EMI/EMC standards for military applications.
Experience with ALM tools including Jira and Confluence, DOORS MatLab, LT Spice, and DX.
