Registered Nurse - Neuro Med-Surg Tele

Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Neuro Med-Surg Tele unit will provide high-quality care to patients with neurologic diagnoses. The unit serves as a Telemetry overflow unit, focusing on diagnoses such as CVA, ischemic stroke, epilepsy, seizures, and more. As a Certified Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, the candidate will engage in continuous monitoring and assessments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Provide nursing care and monitoring for patients on telemetry.
Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as necessary.
Conduct assessments and document patient progress in Cerner.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
Float to other units as needed based on hospital needs.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg and Telemetry experience required.
CVA/acute stroke care and pre/post-neurosurgery experience required.
Experience with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries required.
Valid RN license in Maryland or compact state license required upon submission.
ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required; TCRN preferred.
Basic EKG assessment through Prophecy Relias required prior to orientation.
