Maintenance Worker I – Streets

Streets & Traffic Engineering Division / Public Works Department

Permanent full-time position available

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm

Under immediate direction, maintains, constructs and repairs City streets, sidewalks, catch basins and storm drains. D. and four to six months of related experience or training; Experience in street construction and maintenance or related. Valid State of Iowa commercial driver's license instruction permit upon first day in position. Valid State of Iowa Class A commercial driver's license with air brake and tank endorsements within 6 months of hire. Meet federal drug testing requirements. D. and seven to twelve months of related experience or training; Entry-level Driver Training (ELDT) for employees who need to obtain a required CDL is provided by the City. Employees are provided paid time to complete ELDT and to take required CDL tests. Information on how to obtain an Iowa CDL including the CDL manual and practice test are available at
