Working under the general direction of the Director of Procurement, the Buyer is responsible for executing purchasing strategies that support efficient production operations and deliver cost-effective sourcing solutions. This role involves analyzing material requirements, managing supplier communications, and ensuring procurement processes align with company standards and goals. The Buyer works cross-functionally with teams in Research & Development, Sales & Marketing, and Production to support operational objectives, optimize inventory management, and ensure product quality. Building and maintaining strong vendor relationships is essential to driving results in cost control, supply continuity, and overall procurement performance..

Working under the general direction of the Director of Procurement, the Buyer is responsible for executing purchasing strategies that support efficient production operations and deliver cost-effective sourcing solutions. This role involves analyzing material requirements, managing supplier communications, and ensuring procurement processes align with company standards and goals. The Buyer works cross-functionally with teams in Research & Development, Sales & Marketing, and Production to support operational objectives, optimize inventory management, and ensure product quality. Building and maintaining strong vendor relationships is essential to driving results in cost control, supply continuity, and overall procurement performance..
Research and respond to questions about cost of goods and material usage
Implement cost-saving opportunities by identifying alternative materials or sourcing strategies that maintain quality and customer value.
Execute action plans to minimize the impact of material shortages or supply constraints on production operations
Prepare contract requests for review and approval
Enter and maintain all documents in the company database to include SQF ingredient registers and SQF supplier registers
3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in raw materials and/or packaging within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite and experienced with ERP/MRP inventory management systems.
Comprehensive knowledge of food manufacturing and distribution processes, including material handling and supply chain coordination.
