Paralegal
Pay: $20 - $22
Location: Gulfport, MS
Position Summary
The Paralegal is responsible for providing legal and administrative support to attorneys by managing case files, preparing legal documents, conducting research, and maintaining communication with clients. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management: Maintain and organize legal files, records, and case documentation.
Document Preparation: Draft, review, and prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
Client Communication: Serve as a point of contact for clients and assist with case updates and information gathering.
Legal Research: Conduct basic legal research and compile information for attorney review.
Scheduling: Coordinate appointments, meetings, depositions, and court dates.
Records Management: Obtain and organize medical records, reports, and other supporting documentation.
Deadline Tracking: Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely completion of required tasks.
Administrative Support: Provide general clerical and administrative assistance to attorneys and legal staff.
Requirements
Experience: One (1) year of paralegal, legal assistant, administrative, or related experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Organization: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy when handling legal documents and case information.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
Education: Associate degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent legal experience preferred.
