RN Emergency Room Full Time Weekend Nights

2 North is a 16-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry Observation and Horizons Detox unit. The most common diagnoses are new diagnosis DM, chest pain, R/O stroke, abdominal pain, GI bleed, detox, suicide ideation, and altered mental status.

1 year of inpatient nursing experience preferred. At least 6 months required experience to come in outside of the New Grad residency program.

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Atrium Health Mercy is a 196-bed facility of Carolinas Medical Center (CMC). Located 1.3 miles from CMC, Mercy is one of two Carolinas Medical Center locations. Atrium Health Mercy is  Magnet designated in Nursing Excellence and is also a  Planetree designated patient-centered hospital.
For more than 100 years, Atrium Health Mercy has treated approximately 80 - 110 Emergency Department and 130 - 212 in-patients daily with a special combination of human compassion and leading-edge expertise.
Atrium Health Mercy is a full-service community hospital, specializing in the care of seniors and in complex foot and ankle surgery, hip and knee surgery, bariatric surgery, and women’s pelvic health.

Full-time nights: three 12-hour shifts per week, 7pm–7am

The RN Clinical Nurse I provides professional nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies procedures, and/or protocols under the supervision of the nursing leader. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served.

Collects data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation.
Implements the identified plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
Delegates elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with any applicable legal or policy parameters or principles.
Practices in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
Collaborates with healthcare consumer and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice.
Contributes to quality nursing practice.
Evaluates one's own and others nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations.
Utilizes appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.
Promotes shared governance, or facility decision making activities, developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion.

Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English in good, understandable terms. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing required.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current Basic Life Support required per policy guidelines. Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state in which you work and reside or; or for Non-National License Compact states, current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner required in the state where the RN works.
