If you enjoy working on diverse projects with meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.Why Join Boston Engineering?Every project presents a new challenge, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact from concept through commercialization.Job DescriptionProvide mechanical engineering design and development of innovative products from concept through productionDesign, build, and test proof-of-concept models, breadboards, prototypes, and production-ready designsApply expertise in motion systems, motion controls, robotics, and precision electromechanical designCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing engineersUtilize Creo and/or SolidWorks to develop detailed mechanical designs and documentationPerform engineering analyses, develop product specifications, and create design documentationApply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and design for cost and reliability principlesSupport proposal development, technical estimates, and customer engagementsContribute to rapid prototyping and iterative product development effortsEnsure compliance with Boston Engineering's Quality Management System and engineering best practicesQualifications8-10+ years of mechanical engineering experience focused on new product developmentDemonstrated success bringing complex products from concept through manufacturingExperience designing high-precision electromechanical systemsExperience with rapid prototyping and prototype developmentExperience designing products for underwater or marine environmentsProficiency with Creo and/or SolidWorksExperience developing products that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software systemsStrong understanding of DFM, DFA, design for cost, and reliability engineeringProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsPrevious experience working within an engineering services or product development consulting environmentFamiliarity with Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programs is a plusBachelor's degree in Mechanical EngineeringAdditional InformationEmployment Type: Full-time RoleReports to: Mechanical Engineering Department ManagerLocation: Office-based in Waltham, MARelocation: Relocation assistance is not provided for this role.A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k) match, and paid time off, is also provided.At Boston Engineering, you can grow in the direction YOU want.
