SOMC Orthopedic Associates is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to join their hospital-employed practice. The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained in hand, upper extremity or sports medicine. Practice Location SOMC Orthopedic Associates

Staffing 6 providers, 8 clinical staff (CMA, LPN, Ortho Techs), 4 front office, 2 surgery schedulers, radiology, and athletic training support

Case Load 25-40 patients/day in clinic

Office procedure volume varies. Joint injections, aspirations, pin removals, cast application/removal 4-8 procedures/day in hospital

Sports Medicine: Opportunity to lead and grow the sports medicine service line

No inpatient pediatric cases

No spine surgery performed in-house

Responsibilities

Perform advanced procedures such as shoulder and knee arthroscopy, complex ligament reconstruction and/or revision, meniscal debridement and repair, chondroplasty and cartilage restoration, and rotator cuff/labral repairs

Manage community trauma including long bone, periarticular, pediatric, periprosthetic, and hand/foot fractures, as well as proximal humerus and hip fractures

Perform primary and revision joint arthroplasty including knee, hip, and shoulder replacement

Perform hand surgery including carpal and cubital tunnel release, compression neuropathy management, soft tissue mass excisions, and thumb CMC arthroplasty

Perform outpatient pediatric sports procedures including arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder, patellofemoral realignment, chondral lesion management, fracture care, and benign lesion excision

Shift & Schedule

Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM

No evening or weekend office hours

Call is 1:4

Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon

Fellowship-trained in hand, upper extremity or sports medicine is ideal
