Registered Nurse RN Morning and Evening

Northern Rivers is looking for talented Registered Nurses to meet the needs of our youth and adolescent patients with FT Day or Evening shifts available. The Northern Rivers Nurse understands the population we serve as the children in our care face challenges in four main risk factors: trauma, developmental disabilities, mental health, and juvenile justice.

All of our youth have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACES) which have been shown to increase risks for disease, disability and early mortality. ACES can include sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse/neglect, medical trauma, domestic violence, parental incarceration, criminal activity in the home, disruption in caregiving and abuse due to sexual orientation/gender expression.

What you, as a Registered Nurse, can expect at Northern Rivers:

You will be based in a smaller facility that offers reduced caseloads and less stress than often seen in traditional hospital settings
Pay rate of $40/hour with a differential for evenings, nights, and weekends

Your Responsibilities and Skills
Provide compassionate, attentive care to children & youth
Medical evaluation and ongoing medication management
Medication reviews with consulting physicians for consistency of care
Excellent assessment and communication skills
Experience working with an adolescent population is desired, but not necessary
Understanding of and/or interest in Trauma-Informed Care practices
Requirements and Education:
RN Licensed in New York State
CPR Certification required.
Registered Nurse 1-2 years' experience preferred
Experience working with youth and adolescent population desired
Must pass a physical.
You must be able to complete TCI training.
