Procurement Specialist (GPBY) Birmingham, England
A leading industry manufacturer is seeking a talented Category Buyer with expertise in Indirect Procurement categories—including IT, HR, and Factory Services. The role focuses on supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and procurement strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Engage and manage supplier relationships.
Support contract negotiations, tenders, and RFIs.
Drive implementation of supplier agreements.
Support the Procurement Manager in preparing RFIs, RFQs, and ITT documents.
Source new suppliers and materials to support business growth and innovation.
Lead and support tendering processes across key spend areas.
Contribute to the development and execution of category plans.
About You
Brings demonstrable experience in procurement, ideally with a focus on supplier selection, contract negotiation, and tender management. Ambitious, eager to learn, and collaborative.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a Procurement role—Specialist, Coordinator, Assistant, or similar.
Supplier negotiation and tendering expertise.
Working knowledge of Indirect Procurement.
Comfortable with supplier‑facing responsibilities, including visits and ongoing relationship development.
MCIPS qualification (or working towards) is a plus.
Benefits
Salary up to £45,000, £6,000 car allowance, training and progression opportunities.
