The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking exceptional physicians to join our nationally recognized department. We are recruiting board-certified and board-eligible physicians across a variety of clinical, academic, subspecialty, and leadership roles. Emergency Medicine Physician Community Practice

Emergency Medicine Physician Academic Clinical Faculty

Medical Toxicologist

Assistant/Associate Residency Program Director

Medical Director Community Emergency Medicine

Qualifications:

Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent degree

Board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or ABOEM), or specialty-specific board certification where applicable

Eligibility for or current Arkansas medical licensure

Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care

Excellent communication and collaborative practice skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Academic medicine and physician education

Community emergency medicine

Residency leadership or graduate medical education

Medical Toxicology fellowship training

Clinical research and scholarly activity

Quality improvement and patient safety

Physician leadership and administrative experience

Curriculum development and learner mentorship

Multidisciplinary collaboration

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive emergency medical care for patients across the lifespan

Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses and injuries

Perform emergency procedures consistent with specialty training

Deliver timely, compassionate, evidence-based care

Teach and supervise residents, fellows, and medical students

Participate in curriculum development and educational programming

Mentor trainees and junior faculty

Lead clinical operations and departmental initiatives

Support provider recruitment, onboarding, and professional development

Participate in strategic planning and operational improvement

Promote patient safety and quality initiatives

Participate in research and scholarly activity

Present at regional or national meetings

Publish scholarly work as appropriate

Contribute to innovation within Emergency Medicine

Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, pharmacy, EMS, hospital administration, and multidisciplinary care teams

Support departmental goals focused on quality, efficiency, patient experience, and operational excellence

Other duties as assigned
