Psychiatry - Behavioral Health
Our Behavioral Health team is seeking a psychiatrist to join us in serving our patient populations throughout the local and outlying communities. This MD will be responsible for providing behavioral health services to individual patients across lifespan. Our professional, patient centered, and compassionate behavioral health providers and support staff are a source of excellent support and extensive resources. The Behavioral Health Division at Essentia Health includes physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners, clinical social workers, psychiatric physician assistants, nurses, and dedicated support staff. This highly respected and rapidly growing team has access to top-notch facilities that provide the ideal setting for candidates seeking a professional atmosphere for their practices.

Part-time or full-time; daily schedule is Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm; no evenings or weekends
Psychiatrists in Behavioral Health are expected to be competent and confident in provision of the following:

Conducting health screenings and psychiatric evaluations.
Prescribing, monitoring, managing, and evaluating psychopharmacological medications.
Providing integrated mental health services in general health settings.
Collaborating with other psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers, nurse practitioners, and support staff.
Collaborating with other departments and specialties when appropriate in order to effectively and ethically treat patients with complex medical needs and comorbid mental health concerns.

Use of good judgment in emergency situations.
Keyboard skills and basic computer skills.

A Behavioral Health psychiatrist is able to utilize advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. This provider will build rapport and prescribe medications, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. This position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

MD degree with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in psychiatry.
Child/adolescent certification preferred, though not required.
Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
