Qualifications Must meet the certification requirements for School Nurse established by the State of Delaware Department of Education, this includes a B.S., R.N.

Job Goal The school nurse provides health care to students and staff, performs health screenings and coordinates referrals to the appropriate healthcare provider. The school nurse serves as the liaison between school personnel, family, community, and healthcare providers, to advocate for health care and a healthy school environment.
Performance Responsibilities Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school medical matters.
Assumes authority for the care of a student, staff member, or visitor, who has suffered injury or emergency illness.
Appraises and identifies general health needs of students and school personnel.
Other duties as assigned that pertain to nursing, health, or medical matters as a substitute.
Terms of Employment As needed throughout the school year.
Salary $45.68/hour
Mandates and Mandatory Mandates Satisfactory criminal background check prior to being placed on payroll.
Satisfactory child protection registry check.
Mandatory direct deposit of pay.
Documentation of Mantoux skin test results for entrance to school system.
