Registered Nurse 2 (RN2) Full-time, Permanent Washington Corrections Center (WCC) Shelton, WA

DOC is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Registered Nurse 2 (RN2) for Washington Corrections Center located in Shelton. Registered Nurses will receive shift differential in the amount of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour for evening shift and night shift work. Employees may also qualify for one or both of these supplemental shift premiums in addition to the above.
WCC is the Reception and Diagnostic Center, a close-custody facility with the primary responsibility to process, test, and classify all adult male incarcerated individuals sentenced to prison in Washington State. The facility has seven living units and the capacity to house more than 1,700 incarcerated individuals. WCC also serves as a hub for transfer of incarcerated individuals to and from facilities throughout the state.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received. The registered nurse delivers services which promote health, foster healing, and support coping and adjustment to various health conditions.
Responding to all other requests for health care attention in a complete, timely, clinically appropriate and therapeutic manner;
Delegating and supervising work, monitoring, managing, coordinating, and delivering health care;
Planning transition, making referrals and arranging follow-up when patients transfer or return to the community;
Assisting patients to improve their skill and ability to provide care for themselves and their family ;
Counseling, consulting, teaching, advising, and providing health information that improves quality of health services and/or enhances safety and security.
On-Call Nurses:
Be available to work all shifts (day, swing and graveyard) including weekends and holidays.
Be willing to work a minimum of 10 shifts a month.
Be willing to complete a paid three-week correctional worker core training M-F from 8 to 4:30 pm.
Initial and continuous unencumbered licensure in the State of Washington as a Registered Nurse OR An unencumbered Multistate License from a participating Compact Licensure State as outlined by the Nurse Licensure Compact and Department of Health with completion of Suicide Prevention, EDIR training, and MLS demographic survey. AND One (1) year experience working as a Registered Nurse Training by the American Heart Association in Healthcare Provider CPR. Proficient using computer-based programs to schedule, monitor and track patient information, perform data entry and word processing, and communicate via email, as well as other programs that may be needed to complete assigned work. Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a priority health issue for DOC employees. When positive tests result, further information, testing and treatment will also be required. This position may be represented by a bargaining unit.
Requires respirator medical evaluation questionnaire, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by the WA Industrial Safety & Act standards. Must be able to work in spaces, climb stairs, walk long distances, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds. Foreign equivalent degrees awarded outside the United States must have a credential evaluation report attached to your application.
