Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all electrical and plumbing fixtures and systems in district facilities.QualificationsEducation/CertificationValid Plumbing Apprentice license in the State of TexasValid Apprentice Electrician license in the state of TexasValid Texas driver's license with a good driving recordHigh school diploma or GEDMay be required to successfully complete job ability testingSpecial Knowledge/SkillsAbility to learn and apply knowledge of electrical circuits and wiringAbility to learn local electrical and plumbing codesFamiliar with State and Local Plumbing codes and ADA regulationsAbility to learn plumbing systems and how they workAbility to learn to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference materialAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to learn how to braze and solderAbility to use hand and power tools, back hoe, trench digging machines, and pipe threading machinesAbility to read and write legiblyKnowledge of computers and I-PadsAbility to receive and complete electronic work orders on the I-PadExperiencePrefer 1–3 years of experience in commercial plumbing and/or electrical, including plumbing and electrical maintenance repairs, and new constructionMajor Responsibilities and DutiesList Major Area of ResponsibilityCoordinate repairs and installations with other crafts and building staff in order to minimize interruptions in service.Become familiar with utility cut-off valves for plumbing and electrical service disconnects.Repair or replace sanitary sewer and storm drainage systems.Operate sewer cleaning machines (cable type) and sewer jet machines.Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.Work in lifts up to 80 ft. in the air.Make purchases with a "P" card within district guidelines and turn in receipts daily.Work in a variety of extreme hot and cold temperatures.Respond to emergency calls as needed.Ability to work various shifts, which may include: weekends, evenings, and over 8 hours per day on short notice.Support the Humble ISD's Mission, Priorities, and District GoalsOther duties as assignedSafetyPerform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition.Must adhere to all guidelines set forth on MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) when handling chemicals.Must wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when performing any task which could cause injury or illness.Take necessary action immediately and report any condition which could cause injury or illness.Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing, etc.Must wear district issued uniform while at work, and return all uniforms prior to your last day of employment with Humble ISD or the cost for uniforms will be deducted from final pay check.If you accept the $100 district voucher for Safety shoes, you will be required to wear safety shoes throughout the work shift. Safety shoes shall provide steel toe protection and have a slip resistant sole. Work in tiring and uncomfortable position, around electrical apparatus, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent district wide travel.
