Temporary Liability Claims Adjuster I

We are seeking an experienced Liability Claims Adjuster for a direct hire opportunity in Salt Lake City, UT. This role is ideal for a claims professional with strong property and casualty experience who can evaluate liability, investigate claims, negotiate settlements, and manage files with accuracy and urgency.

Review assigned liability claims, conduct investigations, gather facts, and determine company liability based on claim details and applicable standards.

• Evaluate repair estimates for commercial and personal vehicles, verify accuracy, and coordinate third-party reviews when appropriate.
• Set, review, and adjust reserves while maintaining accurate documentation and timely claim handling practices.
• Negotiate and settle claims with claimants, attorneys, outside insurance contacts, and other involved parties.
• Manage aged claims, identify closure opportunities, and apply rights to recovery, statute of limitations, and state insurance regulations.

Investigate liability claims, evaluate facts, and determine appropriate claim resolution strategies.

• Negotiate claims settlements while following established best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Manage claim files, timelines, aged claims, and documentation with accuracy and consistency.
• 2 years of experience managing property and casualty claims with a consistently high level of performance.
• Working knowledge of claims review, adjusting practices, liability analysis, reserves, and settlement negotiation.
• Understanding of federal Medicare regulations, bodily injury claim settlement requirements, state insurance rules, and industry standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to use claims systems and office technology for most daily tasks.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, adapt to changing assignments, and maintain professionalism in stressful or urgent situations.
• Dependable, self-motivated, team-oriented, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
• 4-year degree in a specified field or business-related field and commensurate work experience preferred.

Experience reviewing claims involving commercial vehicles.
