The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process. Duties include: assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors. Provide assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status.

Document nursing care, treatment, and patient's response to treatment

Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and chemical dependency disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.

Current Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation and CPR Certification required (can be obtained upon hire)

Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Hours: Day Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM / Night Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM (Rotating Weekends Required)
