Description
American Traveler is hiring a Step-down RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring a MO or compact RN license and at least 1-2 years of stepdown/telemetry experience.
Details

• Work in the Step-down/PCU unit of a Level II Trauma and Level II Stroke Center hospital
• Cares for cardiac telemetry, medical-surgical telemetry, and neuro stepdown patient populations
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements
Active MO RN license or compact RN license, in hand prior to start (pending license accepted at time of consideration)
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS; NIHSS also required
Minimum 1-2 years of recent nursing experience required
BSN preferred
Epic charting experience preferred
Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management
Wound care and isolation precaution/PPE knowledge
Two professional references required for consideration
Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
Additional Information
Provide direct patient care in a stepdown/PCU setting supporting cardiac, neuro, and renal patient populations
Facility is the only tertiary hospital between Kansas City and Omaha with 352 certified beds
Local candidates accepted at a reduced pay rate
Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
First-time travelers may be considered
