Our client located in West Milwaukee is looking for A CNC Operator to join their team.
CNC Machinist
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Job Summary
The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machining equipment to manufacture precision parts from a variety of metals. This role supports production of complex castings and forgings while maintaining strict quality, safety, and documentation standards in an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines, including horizontal and vertical machining centers and CNC turning equipment
Perform machining operations such as drilling, boring, milling, and turning to required tolerances
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering drawings, and specifications
Make tool changes, offsets, and basic program adjustments as needed to ensure part quality
Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments
Maintain accurate production, inspection, and quality documentation
Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime
Train or assist other operators when required
Follow all safety procedures and quality system requirements
Maintain a cooperative, team-oriented, and customer-focused work approach
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience setting up and operating CNC machines
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes
Proficiency using hand tools and precision measuring equipment
Ability to apply basic math concepts
Forklift experience a plus, but not required
Work Environment
Manufacturing / machine shop environment
Work involves standing for extended periods, handling tooling and materials, and operating CNC machinery in a production setting
