Automation Engineering Associate

Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx) is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, employing approximately 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees.

Work to improve reliability of the process control systems to meet current & projected customer, business & regulatory requirements.

Schedule & execute plans in coordination with operations schedules

Own self‑development & initiative to build an understanding of automation applications & systems

Adhere to automation standards & implement necessary changes to the automation‑related specifications & maintenance plans

Support Engineering Technicians.

Assist in coaching & training colleagues & stakeholders

Operate in compliance with a quality first mindset

Work closely with operations to identify process gaps & focus on continuous improvement

Support corporate, PS, local IT, & local stakeholder initiatives & projects

Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university required

Associate’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university may be considered with two (2) years of engineering experience in process‑based manufacturing, utility, &/or packaging systems required

High School Degree/GED may be considered with four (4) years of engineering experience in process‑based manufacturing, utility, &/or packaging systems required

Minimum of two (2) years engineering experience in process‑based manufacturing, utility, &/or packaging systems preferred

Knowledgeable in PLC, DCS/SCADA, MES, Oracle, MS SQL, Historian, general controls a plus

Organization/Planning: Knowledge in planning/organization, follow‑up & completion a plus
