Registered Nurses must titrate drips, including amiodarone, heparin, insulin, and Cardizem. The unit primarily cares for patients with colorectal conditions, including colorectal cancer and ileus. Respiratory therapy equipment used on the unit includes High Flow and BiPAP devices for short durations. Registered Nurses are expected to troubleshoot these devices but further detailed responsibilities are not specified. The unit uses tele monitors with virtual monitoring only. Nurses are responsible for reading their own EKG strips each shift. Self-scheduling and block scheduling for shifts are allowed. Holiday work is assigned on a rotating basis. Floating to other units is required.
