Exciting ER Travel Nurse Opportunity!
Job Description:

• Unit : ER Fast Track
• Small area functioning as fast track
• No triage for travelers

- Staffing :

• 24/7 triage nurse with second RN starting at 1100
• Charge Nurse available 24/7 - no patient assignment

- Facility Details :

• Number of Beds: 22 beds + 8-10 hallway beds if needed
• No dedicated psych/seclusion rooms but several non-monitored rooms available

- Patient Volume :
- Daily: 170-210 patients
- Certifications Required :

- ACLS

- BLS

- PALS

- NIHSS

- Ratios :
- Typically 1 to 4 (depends on acuity)

- EMR :

• Cerner First Net
• Training provided for travelers with a focus on emergency care

- Support Staff :

• EMT students and clinical techs available on weekends for labs, EKGs, and vital signs
• Security and patient sitters available as needed

- Weekend Requirement :
- Every other weekend, additional shifts may be asked
- Scrub Color :
- Navy

- Tele/Monitor Techs :
- Phillips systems with monitor techs available
- Patient Care :

• Vents present - 24/7 RT and Pharmacy coverage
• Common diagnoses: psychs, stroke, sepsis, STEMIs

- Floating :
- May require floating to SJPVH ER
- Orientation :
- 2 days on the floor for specific training
- Additional Notes :

• 2-3 years of ER experience required
• Pain assessment and follow-up care are priorities
• Training on I-stat, glucometer, and POC urine pregnancy tests will be provided
