A Brief Overview The nursing assistant participates in the provision of nursing care by performing basic activities of patient care and related support services as delegated by the licensed nurse.

What you will do Providing great patient care.

Answering patient calls and determining how best to help them.

Providing physical support for patients or residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.

Ensuring patients or residents receive an appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.

Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.

Examining patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine.

Noting observations of patient behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms reporting changes in patients condition to RN/LPN.

Education Qualifications High School Diploma with the successful completion of state approved course of study and certification testing for Nursing Assistant training and/or documented completion of military equivalent, and/or successful completion of fundamentals semester of nursing school

Required Experience Qualifications Previous nursing assistant experience

Preferred Skills and Abilities Knowledge of infections, conditions, and the general terminology used by medical professionals

Computer Skills

Licenses and Certifications Certified Nursing Assistant - National Nurse Aide Assessment Program
