Registered Nurse- PCU Nights

Registered Nurse - Neuro PCU
This is a 13-week contract position.
Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7:15 AM with 36 hours guaranteed. Will float to other PCU/Med Surg floors if needed.
The Registered Nurse provides direct care to patients using the nursing process. This includes ongoing assessment of the total patient. The RN provides interventions to treat the presenting symptoms and evaluates the effect of nursing interventions and the patient's responses. The RN functions as a team leader/member and resource to others, delegating, overseeing, and providing direction to support staff while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to establish goals and outcomes for each patient. The RN is responsible for meeting the needs of all types of patients.
Responsibilities:

Regularly assesses patient needs and provides skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician-authorized plan of care and accepted standards of evidence-based nursing practice.
Provides direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, education, call lights, assisting with transfers, responding to alarms, and other duties as appropriate.
Evaluates the effectiveness of the treatment plan and collaborates with other team members to update/revise the treatment plan utilizing current information to improve patient care.
Knowledgeable and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines as well as hospital-specific policies and procedures relating to care provided in the medical center.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 2+ years of experience in a relevant nursing position - Required
• Neuro PCU Experience - Required
• Recent Travel Work History - Highly Preferred
• Active Michigan RN License - Required
• Active American Heart Association BLS - Required
• Active American Heart Association ACLS - Required
• Active NIHSS Certification - Required
• Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty (PCU) - Required
• 2 Supervisory Reference Forms Completed within the last two years - Required
