Job Responsibilities: Foster and maintain mutual respect with both suppliers and colleagues.

Prepare requests for bids on commodities with long lead times and high costs.

Ensure the selection of the best suppliers based on quality, price, on-time delivery, and technical expertise.

Select and uphold high-quality supply sources.

Evaluate the performance of current and potential suppliers.

Inform departments of any changes in raw material parameters that could impact operations.

Address and resolve communication issues, manufacturing process challenges, or delivery delays with suppliers.

Research and analyze cost data to identify opportunities for cost reduction and profit improvement.

Develop strategies for managing raw material inventories, addressing challenges such as product life cycles, artwork changes, and chemical shelf lives.

Manage purchase order volumes and inventory turnover in alignment with company’s procurement strategy.

Keep thorough and accurate records of all issues and communications related to each purchase order.

Expedite or delay purchase orders as necessary to support changes in the production schedule.

Align purchases with Make-to-Order and JIT manufacturing strategies.

Maintain open communication between the Purchasing department and other areas within the organization.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications: An Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.

4 years of purchasing experience preferably within the manufacturing industry.

Strong knowledge of cost analysis.

Must be capable of working extra hours if needed.
