Research Nurse for Medical Oncology

Overview Texas Oncology is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our San Antonio, TX team. This full‑time Monday‑Friday position (8:30 am‑5 pm) supports the Medical Oncology Department and does not involve weekend, on‑call or major holiday work.

Job Overview The Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) works under general supervision to provide professional nursing care in accordance with national and company standards. The RN recognizes the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care, participates in quality initiatives, and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards.

Assess patient health status by interviewing about current status and medical history.

Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.

Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.

Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments.

Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the chart.

Assist patients in locating community resources.

Serve as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

Qualifications Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program (BSN preferred).

Minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Current RN state license in the practicing state.
