Candidates must have outstanding editorial judgment and be informed about and interested in current events, politics, national security and international affairs. The position often requires coordinating guest bookings and making calls outside of regular office hours.

Candidates must have experience reacting quickly in breaking news situations to identify and book government officials, lawmakers, reporters and experts in situations where news is developing while the newscast is already on the air. Candidates must also have a strong grasp of using social media to find people involved in breaking news situations.

The Senior Editorial Producer will serve as an ambassador for the anchor and senior producers and must have exceptional people skills. The Senior Editorial Producer will mentor and serve as a resource to junior members of the staff and may be responsible for managing other editorial producers.

Job may require travel for breaking news bookings.

A bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field is preferred. Proven performance booking guests and an established contact list are required.

Exceptional organizational, writing and communication skills are essential.

Ability to travel as needed is required.

Language skills are a plus.
