HVAC Inventory Buyer

The Buyer supports the business through planning, purchasing, inventory management, and provision of excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. The Buyer must ensure that inventory is optimized to support customer expectations, meet turns guidelines, and minimize excess and obsolete inventory levels. The Buyer utilizes inventory strategies and knowledge of supplier performance to issue POs assuring timely delivery of product.

Forecast inventory needs and align purchases to exceed customer service levels while optimizing inventory turns. Manage incoming material flow for timely delivery and to facilitate capacity requirements. Place stock and procurement buys from both suppliers directly and from the Johnstone DC.

Resolve purchasing and inventory management related issues with multiple departments including branch personnel and Accounts Payable.

Strive to continually improve efficiency and reduce costs throughout the supply chain.

Work within a team structure to achieve company and departmental goals.

Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, marketing, or related field preferred; a minimum of two years of purchasing, planning, or inventory management experience required; HVAC industry experience and product knowledge preferred.

Proficiency in Excel required.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products with excellent Excel skills.

Ability to communicate proficiently in English in both written and verbal forms.

Must be able to travel to branch locations on a quarterly basis and as needed.

While multilingual skills are valued, English proficiency (written and spoken) is a core requirement for this position due to the nature of the work, safety regulations, and to ensure accurate communication and comprehension.
