Physical Therapist – Home Health

The Physical Therapist will bring a strong sense of ethics and a passion for learning to our Home Health team.

As a regional health center, we provide high-quality care for diverse communities and expect our therapists to be patient advocates, able to think on their feet and collaborate with providers and specialists across the hospital system.

Applicants must be willing to treat inpatients and may cover occasional weekends. We care for patients with neurological, orthopedic, general medical, wound, pediatric, lymphedema, and related diagnoses. New graduates are welcome.

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist uses exercise and modalities in the treatment of pain and movement disorders to restore normal movement and function in accordance with physician referrals, while participating in hospital committees and interdisciplinary teams.

Essential functions include supporting the hospital’s commitment to high ethical standards, following APTA standards, complying with state and federal laws, maintaining confidentiality, and collaborating to meet patient and departmental goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an APTA-approved School of Physical Therapy with a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral Degree; completes annual educational requirements.

Preferred Experience: One (1) year of Physical Therapist experience with diverse populations, including inpatient CCU, acute, rehab, outpatient, and pediatrics.

License(s): Current State of Alaska Physical Therapist License.

Other: Valid driver’s license, current auto liability insurance, and reliable transportation for Home Care Services.

Compensation

Internal Hires: Pay rate determined by applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.

External Hires: Starts at $51.36 per hour; step placement and rate of pay based on relevant experience.

Practice Notice

All new employees must produce a negative drug screen for illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to employment.
