Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Telemetry
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a challenging and fast-paced Cardiac Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have experience managing patient care with high ratios and acuity levels.
Provide pre and post-procedure care for cardiac patients, including those undergoing pacemaker implantation and cardiac catheterization.
Administer cardiac drips and manage a variety of telemetry patients.
Monitor and assess patients experiencing conditions such as stable angina, low-risk chest pain, congestive heart failure, dysrhythmias, and cerebrovascular accidents (CVA).
Utilize equipment such as telemetry monitors, pulse oximeters, and high-flow oxygen systems.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar telemetry or cardiac setting.
IV start skills and competency in telemetry monitoring are required.
Unit Details
The unit operates with a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6, and nurses are expected to be comfortable with taking on the higher end of that ratio based on unit needs. The unit typically turns over 78 to 90 patients per week, necessitating nurses to manage multiple patient assignments effectively.
This position requires 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, with a commitment to working every other weekend and designated Monday and Friday shifts within a 6-week period.
All jackets must be of the same material and color as the uniforms, and footwear must be appropriate with no crocs having holes allowed.
Special Procedures and Equipment
Nurses should be familiar with and able to titrate medications such as Cardizem, and manage patients on high flow oxygen and BiPAP, with conditions stipulated for their use, particularly during COVID surges.
