Job Title: Assembly Operator / Plastic Operator
The Assembly Operator / Plastic Operator operates production machinery and related equipment to support manufacturing processes in an assembly or plastic molding environment. You ensure products are produced efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established quality and food safety standards while supporting smooth material flow and accurate documentation.
Operate and monitor assembly or plastic molding machines and related equipment to meet production, safety, and quality standards.
Follow established procedures for machine startup, operation, shutdown, and basic troubleshooting, including responding to alarms and restarting machines as needed.
Perform quality inspections using visual checks, gauges, fixtures, and scales to verify products meet specifications.
Handle materials throughout the production process, including staging raw materials, tracking work-in-process, and managing finished goods.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company procedures and food safety (SQF) standards.
Communicate equipment issues, malfunctions, or maintenance needs promptly to supervisors and team members.
Use barcode scanners to accurately track materials, production activity, and inventory movement.
Collaborate with team members in a production environment to meet output goals and support continuous improvement.
Experience in production, general production, or manufacturing environments.
Hands-on experience operating machinery, including assembly equipment or plastic injection molding machines.
Ability to follow standard operating procedures for machine startup, operation, shutdown, and basic troubleshooting.
Ability to perform visual and measurement-based inspections using gauges, fixtures, and scales.
Experience with packaging tasks such as folding, taping, labeling, and palletizing products.
Ability to use barcode scanners to track materials and production activity.
Strong attention to detail to identify defects, follow quality standards, and maintain accurate records.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area and follow safety and food safety (SQF) requirements.
Effective communication skills to report equipment issues and collaborate with team members.
Comfort working around machinery and in a team-oriented production setting.
Previous experience in plastic injection molding operations.
Previous experience in food-related or SQF-regulated manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with rework processes and sorting of defective or rejected products.
Comfort using basic hand tools, fixtures, and measuring devices in a production setting.
Willingness to adhere strictly to dress code and personal protective equipment requirements.

You can earn pay increases over time, including a raise when you transition to a permanent role and additional quarterly raise opportunities based on performance and behavior. You work in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing setting around production machinery and moderate noise levels, with appropriate personal protective equipment provided. The environment is team-oriented and focused on consistent production output and food safety standards. All personnel must wear hair nets, beard nets (if applicable), safety glasses, and ear plugs, which are supplied on-site. The facility emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and adherence to these standards throughout each shift.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fenton, MO.
