Full Time Acute Care Registered Nurse

Kindred Hospital Central Tampa is a 102-bed long-term acute care hospital offering the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period; We partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week so you can start your journey to wellness. We are located in North Central Tampa about five miles outside downtown.
Implements policies and procedures, along with standards of care and practice related to patient care needs involving various types of wounds. Provides direct patient care assistance to staff nurses and acts as consultative service regarding wound care to clinical staff. Performs wound care functions under the oversight of a Wound Care Coordinator.
Provides care for patients whose primary needs involve wounds.
Reviews initial treatment plan with the supervising Registered Nurse and Wound Care Coordinator.
Reports to the supervising Registered Nurse and Wound Care Coordinator any change of wound status.
Assists in planning patient’s care for treatment of wounds and prevention of wounds.
Evaluates products and cost effectiveness for use in hospital and makes recommendation.
Educates staff on products available for use in hospital.
Evaluates culture results, wound progression, and collaborates with physician and Wound Care Coordinator on treatment plan.
Assists as needed with completion of root cause analysis and CMS quality data reporting.
Knowledge of wound care.
Ability to serve as resources to nursing staff in complex wound management.
Approximate percent of time required to travel: Must read, write and speak fluent English.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program leading to licensure as an RN.

Current state RN license.
Three (3) years nursing experience with experience as an acute care nurse.
