Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - NICU

Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT

Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12

Experience: 2 years of experience as an RRT in Adult Critical Care; NICU experience preferred.

Certifications: BLS, CRT; 2 years of experience in Adult Critical Care

• 1 prior travel assignment completed
• Capable of floating between Adult and NICU units

The role involves performing pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection. Tracheostomy care and ABG interpretation are required skills. The therapist will utilize various medications and apparatus for aerosol therapy. Troubleshooting mechanical ventilation alarms and weaning patients is expected. The role includes assisting in high-risk deliveries and interpreting umbilical blood gases. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is crucial for patient care. Flexibility to provide coverage during weekends and holidays is required. Candidates should be prepared to manage a diverse patient population, including neonates and adults.
