Key Responsibilities of the RN - Labor and Delivery

Meet the expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders
Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Administer medications and treatments according to protocol and monitor for side effects and effectiveness
Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given
Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers

Requirements of the RN - Labor and Delivery

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• Current certification required from AWHONN Intermediate FHM or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
• Current NRP certification required
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
• RN License in the state of TX or compact
