Director (RN) Surgical Services

Location: Missoula, MT 59804 (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-Time The Director (RN) Surgical Services is responsible for overseeing all surgical services operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient department management. This leadership role includes responsibility for staff supervision, operational performance, and strategic planning within the surgical services department.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of surgical services, including OR, pre-op, and post-op areas • Lead, mentor, and manage nursing and clinical staff • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards • Develop and manage departmental budgets and resources • Drive quality improvement and patient safety initiatives • Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and cross-functional teams • Monitor performance metrics and implement process improvements • Support staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning • Maintain high standards of clinical care and operational excellence

Must-Have Skills

• Active or eligible Montana RN license • 5+ years of Surgical Services nursing experience • Leadership experience at Manager or Director level • Strong clinical and operational knowledge

Required Skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Master's degree (MSN, MHA, or MBA) • BLS certification upon hire • PALS and ACLS within 6 months

Industry Experience

• Acute care hospital / surgical services required

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required • Advanced degree preferred
