Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an AMA approved and/or JRCERT and SACS accredited school of Medical Ultrasound Technology.
Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in 1 - 2 certification areas, (typically certified in the specialties of Abdomen and/or OB/GYN) or registry eligible at a minimum.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Registered status or experience in Echocardiography (RDCS) and/or Vascular (RVT)
Summary Routine, obstetric, and acute trauma patient care settings using ultrasonic imaging devices, in restricted areas of The Imaging Center, Emergency Department, Surgical suites, Recovery areas (PACU), Labor and Delivery area, or patient bedside. Proficient use of PACS and tele-radiology networking. Uses real-time sonographic systems to produce medically useful films of patients’ anatomy for Radiologists/ Cardiologistsinterpretation. Primary patient contact is adult in nature with less than 10% being pediatric. Assesses patient imaging needs for sequencing, equipment selection and settings, and scheduling. As required, assumes responsibility for delegated designated imaging areas within scope of training. Provides emergency callback coverage as assigned/needed in the event of acute patient demands or staffing shortages in Ultrasound.
